An unusual but highly ornamental flower that grows naturally salt lakes. Slender, brown, wiry stems carry fleshy green clasping leaves. Stems divide repeatedly and culminate in clusters of yellow flowers within a pair of shield leaves. A compact plant 15 to 20 cm high and across. Good for pots and small hanging baskets but not for dried flowers.
